Purchased the 7-day Weather FX elsewhere a few days ago.
OVERALL -- after much researching of many brands, AM VERY SATISFIED!
>> I really love the clean, easy-to-read screen. Most of the other weather stations have so much information squeezed onto the screen that it is a headache to quickly find what is most important -- the time, the current day's forecast, & then what's coming up. LAYOUT is perfect.
>> The data comes from their "forecast" NOT actual reported local data. So far, on my unit, it's always been OFF by a few degrees (the real high in my town being 1-4 deg higher than what has been forecast this week).
>> Also, the color on my unit is stuck on "yellow" (70s) when it should have been orange (80s) & red (90s) for the past week. However, that is not a problem as, when I wake up to go to work, to see the HIGH TEMP & RAIN forecast so that I can dress appropriately is just a matter of looking at the numbers without worrying about the color (yellow...Read more

Before buying, you might want to check what cities are available for your area unless you're in a major city. The closer to one, the better! I've had my Bushnell weather forecaster for several weeks now. I'm about 20 miles from Providence, RI. I like my Bushnell weather forecaster though I've grown a little tired of it, at times. The Bushnell tends to show confusing forecasts every so often. Example: Right now my Bushnell weather forecaster shows an icon image that indicates rain and windy for today, but the subtitle beneath the icon reads sunny, breezy and cooler! Sunny?? What are we suppose to think? The smaller icon for tomorrow's forecast doesn't indicate sun of any kind, but light rain and windy...so go figure. I still keep my LCD barometer nearby. They go well together. The Bushnell looks great and is really well-designed except for what I've mentioned about the forecasts. There are no settings on the unit except to choose what city. Set the city you want after...Read more

1.0 out of 5 stars Didn't work for very long, February 18, 2009

Loved it while it worked, but after less than two months, it no longer updates. It says "In network - Please wait one hour", and then after about 4 hours, says, "Network Lost - Find Another Location". I live in a major metropolitan area, so I am sure distance is not an issue. I tried to check the coverage map on their website, but it is broken as well. (http://map.myambient.com/)

If it breaks that easily, you don't want it. Maybe they just stopped the service, effectively rendering it useless.
