plastic on frame peels off after 2 yr,

This review is from: Costa Del Mar Fathom - Dark Gray 400P Lens (Eyewear)
After about 2-year of normal use, the part of the sunglasses frame that touches the nose started to delaminate (in the form of small "bubbles" underneath the surface), and the glossy finish started to chip off. I asked a Costa Del Mar salesman about this problem at the Fred Hall fishing show at San Diego. He told me that the plastics Costa Del Mar used their older models was sensitive to sunscreen, and they have fixed the problem by switching to different material. The Ultimate All Around Sunglasses,

This review is from: Costa Del Mar Fathom - Dark Gray 400P Lens (Eyewear)
I own several pairs of Costa Del Mar Sunglasses and I couldn't be happier with any of them. Each pair has its individual purpose.....at least that's how I justify buying multiple pairs (because I love them so much). I have owned Oakleys, Ray Bans, and Maui Jims in the past and Costas reign supreme. The Fathom Sunglasses with the Gray Lenses are very comfortable on my face and perform exceptionally well as an all around, everyday pair. While I do love the style of these glasses, I must admit that the Costas are not quite as "stylish" as the Maui Jims; however, when it comes to performance - especially on the water - Costa Del Mar is untouchable. Costa lenses do a phenomenal job at filtering the yellow light that kills a person's ability to see on/through the water. Also, glare from the sun is virtually eliminated with these sunglasses in all environments. I have read a number of negative reviews stating that these sunglasses fall apart fairly easily and that the warranty process...Read more
