Ultra-lightweight, polarized, with grip pads at the nose and on the earpieces that keep them firmly in place, these sunglasses are fantastic. I've had the Tortoise/Maui Rose combination for over 8 years, and these are the best sunglasses I've ever owned. Period. I love them so much that I recently bought a second pair as my fall-back for when the first pair finally breaks beyond fixing. They were worth every penny of the $160 + tax that I forked over for them.

My eyes became very light-sensitive after having laser surgery in 2002, and after trying several other brands & styles of high-end sunglasses, these Maui Jims turned out to be the perfect solution. Ran over the first pair with my truck. I was planning on sending them out for repair, but the warranty was done, and, thanks to Amazon's amazing prices, I replaced them for $50 bucks less than I paid originally at Sunglass Hut, which was only $25 more than the repair was going to cost me.

The flexible frames take a lot of abuse, and the lenses do not scratch easy.

I've had a pair of these for 5 years and they are still like brand new. I wear them doing yard work, bounce them off the ground, bang my head while they are on my head, they hold up. They are super comfortable and worth every penny. There isn't one scratch on them. I will never own a different model of shades unless MJ quit making these. If I can't get these you can bet I will only ever buy MJs. Oh yeah, these shades are also very stylish, get lots of compliments on them.
