Only had these for 6 months, but I'm happy with them. The lenses are Maui Jim's. They're my first, but all reviews of their lenses are very positive.
These are my first Maui Jim's because I've never seen them with a metal frame before [just can't justify their cost for "sport" sunglasses, which break]. I think these frames are fantastic. Are they thin? Absolutely. In my short use, which has not been delicate [I have 3 small kids], they've not loosened up at all. While I wouldn't want to drop them, I've found them to be quite sturdy. And they look great.

One comment on sizing. Lots of product descriptions have these labeled for people with "small" faces. I'm 6' tall and don't have a small face [IMO anyway]. And I believe they fit fine.

Yesterday, while shopping at Walmart, I asked them if they could 'polish out' the scratches in both lenses with 'whiting compound' which is used to polish telescope lenses. They could not.

I continued shopping and reached up to remove my Jim's with my right hand and the screw holding in the right lens fell out again - the lens crashing to the floor.

I revisited the optical shop in Walmart and asked them to put in a 'screw with Permatex or some other glue' and repair the glasses.

The optician said that the screw...Read more
