They needed to be polarized because I fish I wanted glass lenses because my last pair of expensive oakleys had a scratch within a week and by the time they broke completely and the warranty had run out they had a ton of scratches and pitting. I didn't want to spend as much money as I had done in the past When I found these Smith sunglasses they had all my requirements, plus had the added benefits of a lifetime warranty and the polarchromic lenses mean that when I'm out fishing at dusk, I can keep my sunglasses on for the polarization longer. I've now had them for 6 months and I love them, I got the polarchromic copper lenses with matte black frame for under $100. My lens cracked recently while the glasses were being tranported in the mfg supplied case inside of a padded carry-on bag. I did no impact the lenses in any way. Smith wants to charge me $70 for warranty repair. They didn't care what I had to say, nor that I have literally owned three pairs of these same glasses. I'd recommend any of you think twice before buying a product from a company that doesn't stand behind what they build. |
